By supporting Air France-KLM’s “Corporate Biofuel” programme, which involves the transition from the use of conventional fossil fuels to SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), MERMEC will be able to reduce the CO2 emissions of its air travel by at least 75%, further reinforcing the commitment and initiatives undertaken in the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Global Compact, of which both Air France-KLM and MERMEC are members.<\/p>\n

“The adoption of sustainable aviation fuels, together with the continuous renewal of the fleet, is of fundamental relevance to achieving the CO\u2082 reduction targets in air sector.” said Fabio Andaloro, Sales Director Air France-KLM Italy. \u201d We have recently added two new milestones to this path: the delivery of the first of 60 new Airbus A220s, a new generation aircraft capable of reducing CO\u2082 emissions by 20%, and the agreement with MERMEC. Thanks to this agreement, we will be able to reach our goals much faster, stimulating the availability of sustainable aviation fuel on a large scale and making its price more competitive compared to fossil fuels.\u201d<\/p>\n
